Time For That Spring Clean

Spring is on the doorstep, if it has not already arrived. And spring is a to take action. If you look at nature you will notice that the buds are forming, flowers are beginning to appear and the natural world is waking from its slumber. So too is your body.
Spring is on the doorstep, if it has not already arrived. And spring is a to take action. If you look at nature you will notice that the buds are forming, flowers are beginning to appear and the natural world is waking from its slumber. So too is your body.

Have you not noticed some changes taking place? Perhaps there are some stirrings in the body that are calling you to action? Perhaps there are a few kilos - that found there way on over winter - to lose? Or perhaps you are thinking about keeping that promise you made yourself some time ago - you know the one I mean.

So here are few tips that might put some spring into your step.
  • Lighten up the food load. Prepare lights whole foods that are wholesome and refreshing. Eat lots of fruit, veggies, fish and light meats.
  • Get outside and do some walking; make it first thing in the morning and then you know you have done it.
  • Take up a meditative practice to clear the mind; even if it is just sitting quietly without distraction for 10 minutes a day.
  • Say hello to at least tree strangers every day.
  • Join a Yoga class.
  • Make a date with friends to go out for lunch this weekend.
  • Take the kids to the park; even the big ones will love it.
  • Visit the art gallery.
  • Do something you have never done before. Take one spontaneous action every day for the entirety of Spring.
  • Book in for a Shiatsu.
  • Organise some Life Coaching if you need that extra bit of motivation.
  • Don’t watch the news or read a paper or listen to drive time radio for one day every week.
  • Smile and do one nice thing for someone today and tomorrow and ….
  • Learn abdominal breathing. It is said by the ancient Chinese that s/he who learns to breath properly will have no need of medicines.

Whatever you do, do it with passion and commitment. Do it as if it is your last day on earth. Make it count and for god's sake enjoy yourself. There is far too much misery and mayhem going on around us. If you want to change the world take the advice of Mahatma Ghandi. “be the change you would like to see in others”.
